My Visit to Tyrone

Every program that I visited while looking for a cooperating center was unique. I enjoyed visiting each program for different reasons, and I could see myself fitting in at every single one. One of the programs that I had the privilege of visiting was Tyrone. I chose to visit Tyrone at the recommendation of my own ag teacher, Mrs. Fry, who thought that I may be a good fit there.

One of the things that I liked about Tyrone was the facilities, technology, and other opportunities that the students had access to. There were hydroponics, aquaponics, and a greenhouse, which present a world of horticulture possibilities. The shop had a variety of machinery for the students to work on and even virtual welders, which I had never seen before! There were also a few animals housed in the shop.

Another aspect that I appreciated was how organized and direct Ms. Hoy was. Everything had a place and the classroom and shop were very tidy. She was very clear on what she expects from a student teacher and how my experience at her program would be. I'm the type of person that enjoys rules and structure, so I valued the clarity.

Based on my time spent at Tyrone, it was clear to see the opportunities that I would have if I were to student teach there. This program is definitely one of the top contenders that I am considering.
